Terms of service
These Terms govern your use of Plantio, an online plant-care service operated by Mario Weilenmann ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Plantio, you ("you", "user") agree to these Terms.
The service
Plantio lets you track and manage your plant collection: create plants and groups, log care events, receive reminders, upload photos, and (depending on your plan) access advanced features such as custom schedules, sales listings, and data export.
Account
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old, or have your legal representative's consent, to use Plantio.
Plans and billing
Plantio offers three plans: Free, Green Thumb (CHF 5 / month), and Plant Parent (CHF 12 / month). All prices are inclusive of Swiss VAT where applicable.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Cancellation
Open the Plantio app and go to Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. You will be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel at any time.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access to the paid features until then, and no further charges are made.
Refund policy
Plantio does not issue refunds for the current or past billing periods. Because you retain full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, cancelling simply stops the next renewal.
Exception for software defects: If a verified software bug on our side actively prevented you from using the paid features for a substantial part of your current billing period and we cannot resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, we will refund the affected portion of that period on a pro-rated basis.
How to report a bug-related refund request
Send an email to support@plantio.ch with the subject "Refund: software issue", the affected time window, a short description of the problem, and (if possible) a screenshot or reproduction steps. We reply within five business days.
If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank, the refund may take three to ten business days to appear.
Free plan
The Free plan has no charges and therefore no refunds. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Account.
Acceptable use
You will not: upload illegal, infringing, or harmful content; harass other users; attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service; use the service to send spam or unsolicited communications; or violate any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Your content
You retain ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, display, and back up your content solely to operate the service. We do not sell or share your content with third parties for advertising.
Availability
Plantio is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability but publish operational status at status.plantio.ch. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance where feasible.
Warranty and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by Swiss law, we exclude all implied warranties and limit our liability for damages to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intentional or grossly negligent conduct or for bodily injury.
Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate your account for material breach of these Terms or extended inactivity, with reasonable notice where possible.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Bad Ragaz, Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law that grants you additional rights.
Effective from 1 July 2026
